Abstract

The prevalacne of the disease Diabetes Mellitus is increasing alt over the world. Sthulamehi and Krishamehi are the therapeutic Clasification of Madhumeha. Shodana followed by shaman is the Chtkithsa Sutra for Sthoota madhumehi as explaned in Samhitas. Vamana is the Shodana procedure that is specfic for the eliminaton of Kapha dosha, Kaphanubanda dosha, Kapha sthanagatha dosha and Kapholbana dosha. Virechana is the shodana procedure that is specific for the eltrninabon of Pitta dosha and Pittastanagata Vata and Kapha doshas and also as Vatanulonaka. Nyagrodadi choorna is mentioned in chakradutta for all 20 types of prameha. Thus thepresentstudy was undertaken to assess the effectve management from dassical ayurvedic point of view. It includes three groups, 30 patients in each group. Group-A includes Vamana by Nygrodadi Chuma, Group-B indudes Vtrechana followed by Nygrodadi Chuma and Group-C includes Nygrodadi Chuma only in the management of sthulamadhumeha. After evaluabng the total effect Of the therapies, it was observed that both Group A and Group B provided better pabents ofSthulamadhumeha in comparison Group-C.
