Abstract

The skin is regarded as the mirror of an individuars inner health. It helps mainly in touch, temperature perception and acts as barrier between external environment and internal environment of the body. Ayurveda considers skin as vyapaka indriya. It shows the scope for understanding and utilizing in chikitsa. Aacharyas considered skin as via media to cure multi system disorders. Skin occupies, a major part in treatment, such a treatment is called Bahipanmanana chikitsa. It includes mainly Abhyanga. Sweda, pradeha. parisheka, unmardana etc. To know the principles, classifications, methods, precautions. benefits etc of Bahiparirnarjana chikitsa, the present article has been brought into existence.
