An effort to publish “AYUSH Journal” incorporating the treasure of knowledge available in different traditional systems of Indian medicine and homeopathy was undertaken by the publication wing of RGUHS in the beginning of this decade. Some volumes were also published by the effort of the editorial board. The last issue was published in 2013. There has been a gap of more than three years since the last issue is published. Everybody understands the difficulties of birth and early upbringing with the inherent problems in publication.

Now again RGUHS has made a commitment to revive the publication of AYUSH journal. It has constituted a new editorial board consisting of experienced academicians and researchers who also have a deep sense of commitment and enthusiasm. I am so fortunate to have inherited mantle of editorship and feel humble about my new responsibility.

The new editorial board is all set to take up the challenge to usher in new thoughts, ideas, and action. I, understand that the birth and development of a journal speaks of its trials and tribulations and so, also of challenges and creativity. AYUSH - is an acronym in which each alphabet represents a system of medicine viz. Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy. The editorial board has a vision to incorporate the contributions from scholars and researchers belonging to each system of AYUSH. I, seek the cooperation, ideas, and energies of each one of you in making this journal valuable in the field of medicine.

The field of medicine is undergoing a significant transformation in the present era. There is no doubt that all the systems of medicine belonging to AYUSH are now unveiling their potentials, but it is also the right time for the systems, requiring empirically documented objectification through references and documentations. AYUSH journal provides a platform for this. There are also many misconceptions as well regarding these systems. These issues need to be addressed with an unbiased mind. The editorial board of the journal proposes to publish perspectives, original research articles, review articles, clinical application of basic research, case studies and correspondence.

This issue has 2 review articles and 5 original articles belonging to different specialties. The columns of case summaries and correspondence are awaiting your response in the form of letters, queries, and comments. Please do contribute, participate and get connected with other health professionals.

The publication of this volume owes much to the support and encouragement given throughout by the authorities of RGUHS, members of editorial board, contributors and reviewers. Write your opinions, and ideas on this issue.
